Consumables can contribute to avoiding loss of samples through superiour sealing properties. A decisive criterion for tight sealing is freedom from shape changes during cycling or as a result of cycling. Over the last years, 4titude has worked to build up the world´s largest product range of 2 component FrameStar® PCR plates for all kinds of cyclers. The 2 component technology is proven to achieve better sealing with both heat and adhesive seals as the outer rigid Polycarbonate frame prevents shape changes of the plate that weaken the bond between PCR plate and seal. Adhesive Sealing Solutions At 4titude® Ltd., we have extensive experience with different sealing materials, both adhesive and heat-seal, especially in the qPCR field where high fluorescence transparency is demanded. Heat sealing provides a good option for miniaturization as it tends to be tighter and more reproducible than adhesive sealing.
