| New Technologies Dyes and Quenchers for Multiplex PCR |
► Biosearch recently
introduced two NEW series of proprietary, performance-optimized dyes
for enabling multiplex real-time, quantitative PCR (qPCR) on existing
real-time thermocycler instrument platforms—the CAL Fluor® and
Quasar® dye families. Paired with Biosearch's proprietary BHQ dark
quenchers in dual-labeled rt, qPCR probes these dyes enable not only
duplex but also triplex and quadriplex qPCR capability! Exhibiting
emission maxima ranging from 522 nm to 670 nm, these new dyes are high
performance, low cost alternatives for seven fluorophores commonly used
on real-time thermocyclers: TET™, JOE™, VIC™, HEX™, Texas Red®,
Cy3™ and Cy5™. Coupled with the BHQ® dark quenchers you now can
realize the full potential of your q-PCR thermocycler!
► The CAL Fluor, Quasar
and BHQ dyes can be incorporated into a variety of popular probe
designs, including dual-labeled TaqMan® and Molecular Beacon probes
and Black Hole Scorpions™, Amplifluor Direct® and Plexor primer
systems. And, they are fully compatible with the range of real-time PCR
instruments including those by Applied Bioystems, Stratagene, Corbett
Research, Bio-Rad Laboratories and Cepheid, among others.
